What're the benefits of using polyurethane bending restrictors?

In order to prevent excessive bending of the pipe at the interface between the flexible and rigid structure, a bending limiter is usually installed. Our bend limiters are composed of multiple interlocking elements that react when subjected to external loads, thereby locking together to form a smooth bend radius. Select this radius to be equal to or greater than the minimum bending radius of the pipe to which it is applied. Once the components are locked together, the resulting bending moments are transferred to the components and returned to the adjacent rigid connection through the specially designed steel interface structure, thereby protecting the pipeline from potential destructive loads.
The installation and maintenance of components is less time-consuming, at the same time more cost-effective, and the cost of the entire life cycle is reduced, because plastics will not corrode or must be protected by plating, paint and anodes. Its weight is also greatly reduced, making it neutrally buoyant in water. This means that during installation and maintenance, the stress applied to the adjacent parts of the pipeline and subsea structure is much smaller.
